Biography

Attorney Amber Rodriguez has provided family law legal services to clients throughout South Texas for over ten years. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, in 2011 and then returned to the Rio Grande Valley to provide service in the areas of divorce and child custody. Ms. Rodriguez maintains a full-service family law firm, providing zealous and thorough representation from start to finish. She offers years of experience in complex family law issues and litigation. Ms. Rodriguez is additionally an experienced mediator with certification in Family-Divorce-Child Custody issues. She is an active member of the Cameron County Bar Association, serving as the President Elect in 2022, and an active member of the Cameron County Bar Association Women's Law Section. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Family Crisis Center in Harlingen, an organization assisting victims of domestic violence. Ms. Rodriguez additionally accepts appointments from the Court to serve as an advocate for children during custody litigation in the family courts and for adults and children who are impaired or otherwise unable to advocate for themselves in the probate and guardianship courts. Since becoming licensed, she has dedicated several hours each year to representing those unable to afford legal services and has worked closely with Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid for many years. 

Ms. Rodriguez strongly believes that every person has a voice and every person deserves an advocate willing to listen and willing to assist them in accomplishing the best possible outcome. Her advocacy and service to her clients includes providing honest and straightforward advice. She understands that issues in family law can be stressful and traumatic, and she is willing to walk her clients through it.

Born and raised in Kerrville, Texas, she moved to Harlingen, Texas, in 2000. While raising a young family, she attended the University of Texas at Brownsville, and began working in the legal field. She graduated with her Associates Decree in Paralegal Studies in 2003 and her Bachelors Decree in Applied Business Technology in 2006. She went on to attend St. Mary's School of Law, while continuing to work full time as a family law paralegal. After becoming licensed to practice in Texas in May of 2012, she moved her family back to Harlingen, Texas. She worked for the Davis Law Firm for two years, during which time she practiced family law and bankruptcy, managing three offices in the tri-county area, and became licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2013. Amber worked for the Law Office of Lisa L. Taylor, exclusively in the area of family law, for three years before opening her own practice in 2017. Amber and her Husband, Juan, continue to raise their blended family in Harlingen, Texas, and enjoy the excitement and commotion of everyday family life.
